Ms. Butler supports K–6 students in developing strong English skills and a lifelong love of reading through engaging, student-centered instruction.

Ms. Butler holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Brigham Young University, where she also worked at the BYU Writing Center, and a Master of Education in Social Emotional Learning from National University. She is credentialed with a Single Subject Teaching Credential in English and an English Learner Authorization.
With extensive experience across all grade levels, Desiree has taught high school English and ELD in the public school system, directed an alternative education center, and led an ESL language school. Having worked with students across the full spectrum of child development, she brings both intention and perspective to her teaching, recognizing the unique needs and strengths of learners at every stage. She is passionate about creating inclusive, student-centered classrooms where learners feel supported, challenged, and empowered to reach their full potential.
Outside the classroom, Desiree enjoys dancing, traveling, visiting museums, exploring art, and spending time with her children.
